Music Ministry

The Music Ministry at First Baptist Church of Louisville is built on the biblical command to:

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord” (Colossians 3:16).

We believe that the most important musical ensemble in the church is the congregation. Every Sunday morning, our choir and worship band (vocals, keys, guitar, bass, and drums) lead the church in joyful, Christ-centered congregational singing.

Our worship includes a blend of classic hymns and modern worship songs by writers such as Sovereign Grace Music, Keith and Kristyn Getty, CityAlight, Shane & Shane, Matt Boswell, and Matt Papa. We also sing a modern setting of a Psalm each week. Our desire is that every song we sing is God-centered, gospel-rich, biblically faithful, and theologically sound.

 Sanctuary Choir

In addition to leading congregational worship, the Sanctuary Choir presents an anthem during the offertory each Sunday morning. The choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 6:30–7:30 p.m. and sings a variety of musical styles. Membership is open to all adults, and no audition is required.

Children’s Choir

Our Children’s Choir meets every Tuesday after school until 5:00 p.m. during the school year. We provide transportation from Louisville Academy and Thomas Jefferson Academy on the church bus, and homeschool students are welcome as well.

We offer:

  • Preschool Choir (Pre-K–Kindergarten)
  • Elementary Choir (Grades 1–5)

Each Tuesday includes a snack, Bible lesson, choir rehearsal, and playground time.
